SPH (Sphere)

Spherical error, or overall power of lens is the basic part of your prescription. A (+) means you have trouble seeing near, and a (-) means you have trouble seeing things faraway.

CYL (Cylinder) & Axis

A cylinder value indicates astigmatisms or perpetually blurry vision. Axis—measured between 1 and 180°— tell us the orientation of the astigmatism

ADD (Addition)

This number is sometimes written NV for near vision and is used for multifocal lenses and readers

We can process prism prescriptions to correct eye orientation

Vertical Prism is used to help correct vertical eye misalignments and is prescribed in opposite directions for both eyes

Horizontal Prism is used to help correct lateral eye misalignments and is always prescribed in the same direction for both eyes

Pupillary Distance

PD (Pupillary Distance)

It's just what sounds like—the distance in millimeters (mm) between your pupils. An average PD measurement is 63 mm, but varies by person. If it's not on the prescription, you can measure it yourself by:
• printing the downloadable PD ruler.
• watching our tutorial video.

Boys Glasses Frames Designed for Comfort

Many of us on the EyeBuyDirect team are parents, so we know the drill. To ensure that our boys glasses don’t scratch, irritate, or slip off accidentally, we equip them with extra-comfortable temple tips. These circular nubs ensure that our frames stay snug and secure behind the ear, whether they’re running across the soccer field or playing on a jungle gym. And that’s not all — To provide the best vision correction experience possible, EyeBuyDirect glasses are all made with only the most premium acetate and steel materials.

    Kid & Parent Approved

Even when worn by the most active of kids, these boys glasses frames are sturdy enough to handle the wear and tear of day-to-day playing. Not convinced? Take a peek at the reviews of any of our catalog products. They’re a hit for both the kids that wear them and the parents that choose them.

Boys Glasses Styles Across the Board

When it comes to fashion, children can be surprisingly specific. That’s why we’ve created boys glasses frames that fall into every popular style and category out there. For a sophisticated look, we’ve got classic wayfarers complete with wooden finish temple arms. If your child’s a fan of a certain fictional wizard school, we’ve also got round frames galore.
